Evaluation of the microstructure of honed surfaces as well as the pore area

So far the assessment of honing structures is done using line profiles from tactile pick ups. Our approach is employing advanced assessment methods based on the data from optical instruments.

Two kinds are available

• Measuring instrument: short coherence interferometer
• Purely visual contrast image:  cylinder scanner or camera

Camera images can be evaluated with a new sophisticated software package fast, ergonomic and highly professional. Naturally the pore evaluation also works on coated surfaces.
